Hello!

Hi All. It's been a while. Hope all of you are still keeping well.

Pieter & I are both doing great, like everyone we have our ups & downs, but more ups...
This rainy weather is just getting to both of us, but its all part of God's great plan.

Since my last posting everything has been hectic. I resigned from Melissa as our relationship is more important. I started my new job in October 2008 and ever since I've enjoyed every moment of it. Then the silly season started. Birthday parties upon birthday parties. Family meetings and so on. Then before I even realised it, it was Christmas and then New Year. Everything came and went....

Before long Melissa and Pieter decided it was a good idea to get married. It was a good idea, but they decided this on the 8th of January 2009. The wedding date 14 February. 5 weeks to plan everything. But with the help of everyone it was pulled off. And what a wedding. Everyone looked so nice and enjoyed it so much, what a blast.

But because of all this excitement around, we didn't seem to have much time to ourselves. But now everything is done now and the weekend that just past was the first weekend in ages that we didn't have anything else planned, and what happened...we didn't even do the things that needed to be done. Murphy!!!!

On a more serious note. I saw my gran the morning of the 14th Feb. I helped to bath, clean and dress her. She seems ok, just not as strong as she used to be. She was very sick the whole night and I could see she was physically and mentally drained. It kills me to she her this way. I understand the pain she is in and I understand everything about the cancer, the thing is she is so lonely. No companion.

My gran went to the doctor for test and stuff on Monday 16th of February. It doesn't look so good. They stopped all the treatment and explained to the family that they must keep her comfortable at all times, don't change her environment, make sure she drinks her pain meds, and just be with her. The doctor says it might be a day, week, month....

who knows. We went to her on Sunday. What a kak day. It feels like yesterday we went to say goodbye to my grandpa and now we are back to square one. She lost alot of weight and looks pale at times. She's battling to breathe and I think that her way of holding on to this life. She breaths and then stops.... this just freaked me out to be very honest. She seems to be very tired. We would sit there and she just closes her eyes and sleeps for a while.

Upon one stage she called everyone that was there into her bedroom and then started to say to us. We must all just remember that whatever she did and said to us she did out of love and that she loves us all with all her heart. She also told us that no matter what, we cannot do anything without God and His love. I think she said goodbye to us. It makes me so sad as I will miss her dearly. I told her that I love her and that she can go and rest its fine. She said she knows, but the time will come when its right.....

We went to my parent home and just before we sat down to eat, the maid called and said she wants Pieter and I to come there. We went there and she wanted Pieter to pray for her. He did pray for her. She told the maid she wanted to tell Pieter where the money is so that he could buy himself a arm...

Everyone just pray for our family and my gran. Below my gran on 16 December 2008 with her birthday.

Keep well. Chat soon.

Lotsa love

Sadness

Hi All,
I received bad news this morning.

My grandmother was diagnosed in 2006 with breast cancer.
She went for a normal checkup this morning and got some bad news.

Her whole body has been taken by cancer.
Her flesh, bones, liver and stomach has been infected badly.
We haven't received any further update, but she is not in pain yet.

They won't be able to give her any treatment, but when it’s needed they will give her pain medication.

Please pray for our family as my grandfather past away in April and just the idée of loosing my grandmother now scares me.

Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.

God bless and love you all.
Lotsa love

Weekend has arrived

Hi All,

I just want to thank each and everyone that's been there for Pieter and I since the accident. Only through friends like you guys a person can keep up and carry on. Thank you for your ongoing support and patience. Not many understand what we go through everyday as everyday there is something new or something different. I hope and pray that God will keep you all safe from now onwards as I would hate to loose anyone dear to my heart. Hope you have enjoyed the week. Have a fab weekend and love you all.

Lotsa love
